About Doug Ronson

Doug has been a trailblazer in the international education sector for 30 years. He is the author of the book, The World’s Campus: Canada is a leader in attracting international students. That’s changing the country – for better and for worse.

In the book, he applauds Canadian international educators for developing an industry worth $22 billion. At the same time, he highlights the risks that organizations are taking by relying on students from just a few countries and counting on international tuition to balance the books.

He has written for the Toronto Star, the Waterloo Record, the Queen’s Alumni Review and the PIE News (Professionals in International Education) in London, UK.

Prior to joining the international education sector, Doug was a writer and news editor of the award-winning newspaper, The Kingston Whig-Standard.

Currently, Doug is the president of ESQ Educational Services. As well, he provides professional development workshops and webinars about international education, risk management and other topics.
